I went to my doctor when it stopped healing over and as it had been going on for around 3 months, she referred me straight to Royal United Hospital (RUH) in Bath.
I was lucky enough to get an appointment with one of their best breast specialists, Mr Richard Sutton. He examined me, and after he was confident that there weren't any lumps or bumps, or sensitive areas, he recommended a topical cream, thinking it was most likely dermatitis. I went home with my cream with the instruction from Mr Sutton to rub it on twice a day (although not in front of people as they may think I'm strange)... Off I went with my cream and a follow up appointment a week later that I was to cancel if the dodgy nipple cleared up within a few days.
